Fallout 4 Freezes but Music Continues
Can you try to launch the game from a new account?
Maybe a savegame in your current profile got corrupted which prevents the game from properly loading.
If the game works with the new account (that hasn't ever played Fallout), you probably have to delete your savegames.

Hi Gravity907,
The other thing to try now is first a 'soft' reset of your console to factory defaults. Make sure you choose theReset and keep my games & apps.If that fails and the issue persists, you may need to try theReset and remove everything. Any unsaved/backed data will be lost going down this route.
Are you experiencing this issue with other games or just Fallout 4? If it is just Fallout 4, have you thought about seeing if other users have experienced the same issue via the Bethesda Community Forums

I have asked Beth.net and so far it seems to be just mine .One user said there was an update last December I believe but I have played at least 4 times a week for 5 plus hours since that update so I do not think it would be the cause .

Yes. They told me it was because of a licence issue. But I bought a hard copy and the same thing happened. So tomorrow I will see what I can do with the advice I've found around the net .Over a week of searching for an answer, Hopfully something works lol. Worst case I will trash my account and start from bones. Make my main account for apps and tv. Any additional advice is still welcome but at this rate I only play fallout nv & 4 and CoD so its not a huge loss.

In short, my fallout game will no longer load to main menu. As soon as menu selection pops up my game freezes and makes an errrr sound. I have, hard reset. Power cycled. Un-Installed and reinstalled. Gone offline. Left it alone for a few days. Cleared cache/reserved space, everything short of a factory reset on my consol (or just throwing the system at a wall) I have tried. It's a digital copy that was installed from the previous owners account. There are creation club mods and Beth.net mods installed.I have played for around 4 years off and on with this never having been an issue until last Monday. I really hope there's a work around or input you could give me. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance. ~Drew
so finally after over a week. I figured it out.. Kind of. I had to erase all data of the game. Every save ECT. At this point it would only give me the "please stand by" screen and nothing more. So I Then had to uninstall and reinstall the game. Turn internet off and sign in to my account then started the game. I had to start from bones but as long as it doesn't crash when I get home to check it I'm certain this issue is finally fixed.
Thank you to all who assisted with pointers and links. I appreciate it.

" As soon as menu selection pops up my game freezes and makes an errrr sound."
This sounds suspiciously like a ventilation issue.
Before you turn the console on again, check the ventilation holes on the sides of the console and clean them.
I use a vacuum cleaner to clean each and every hole of dust accumulation.
It shows up against a black console, not sure with white console.

No the game itself makes the sound. On the screen and audio. The consol is cleaned regularly and I have microfiber cloth over the main vents to collect dust

I would try to launch it from an Alternate Account. It could be the save data you have on your current account causing it.
You could also try uninstalling the game then launching it offline to prevent any cloud saves from making it crash.
Bethesda does also recommend deleting or turning off your mods but from what it sounds like you cant even get to the mods tab on your menu.
Bethesda also has a support page for this issue if you haven't already checked it out
